The Geriatric Care Consultants was founded in 2005 by Nancy Carey, RN to provide client centered care to the elderly and their loved ones. The cornerstone of our service is our medical knowledge and experience dealing with the issues related to the elderly. Unlike other geriatric managers we use nurses with "hands on" experience in homecare to provide our consulting services. We rely on our staff of 5 professionals to serve the needs of our clients throughout Northern Illinois and Southeast Wisconsin.
We serve as consultants and advocates when it comes to helping the elderly and their families identify key issues of concern. We then develop and help execute a personalized care plan.
We are an independent advisor. When needed we recommend the services of various firms such as caregiver agencies and they bill you directly. We do not receive any compensation for those referrals. Thus we can be objective when evaluating their performance and make changes if required.
Nancy L. Carey Managing Director
Nancy Carey is the Managing Director of The Geriatric Care Consultants. She has many years of nursing experience that include med-surg nursing in a community hospital, team leader for a Visitors Nurse Association, 10+ years as a Home Health Nurse and Diabetes specialist, Intake Coordinator for a Home Care Servicer and 5+ years as a Geriatric Care Manager. She has enjoyed working as a volunteer with elderly groups and ran a stroke support group.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY and is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers.
